Biography

I am a Software Engineer, a Data Engineer, a Data Choreographer, a Father, and passionate about what it takes for systems and humans to performance effectively and efficiently.

Professionaly I had the joy and privilage of being on the leading edge of technology - the birth of the Internet, the birth of Object Oriented Programming, then the birth of the Web, then the rise of Big Data and Data Science.

Whilst I’m now often consulting, at heart I’m probably still an assember programmer; I care how things work at a bit / byte level, how the memory is organised, and how the heads of a disk dance over the platters to give you your data. I grew that into large-scale Data Modelling and Data Engineering projects.

I also care deeply about the development, build, release and project management systems and practices that support (or inhibit) the production of software and systems, and continue to champion their adoption and enhancements in all organisations I’m involved with.
